this group exhibition, curated by AV Festival 10, presents six contemporary artist rooms, including three new commissions, on the theme of energy and sound. sculptural objects are brought to life by electrical, mechanical and human energy, uniting technology with the forces of nature.

room harp by rhodri davies is a series of new harp sculptures played by mechanical fans, turning the harps into musical wind machines.

cut and burn - rhodri davies

in this performance, set within his installation room harp, davies methodically burns and restrings all 47 strings on a concert pedal harp. he has been interested in the relationship between destruction and creation in sound for many years and in 2008 collaborated with the artist gustav metzger.

an evening of sonic experiments with unusual sound sources including tesla coil, firework sparklers, levitating gold and a block of dry ice. rhodri davies plays an electric harp on a block of dry ice.
